On Thursday, July 24, the Chicago White Sox will face off with the Minnesota Twins at Target Field in the first game of their three game series. The White Sox will send Hector Noesi (4-7, 5.21 ERA) to the mound opposite Phil Hughes (10-6, 4.06 ERA) of the Twins.

Noesi is coming off his fourth win of the season when he faced the Houston Astros on Saturday night. Noesi pitched six innings and gave up three runs on six hits while striking out two and walking a batter. It was his second win in his last three outings and he'll look to keep the momentum going on Thursday.

Noesi will have to be careful when facing Kendrys Morales who is hitting .429 against him with two homeruns and four RBI off three hits.

Phil Hughes is coming off a loss against the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday. In that game, Hughes pitched seven innings giving up five runs on 11 hits while striking out just one batter. The loss increased his ERA to over four for the first time this season. Hughes will be looking to get back in the win column when he faces the White Sox on Thursday.

Current White Sox hitters hold a .246 average as a team against Phil Hughes. Many of the White Sox starters have fared well against Hughes including Jose Abreau who is 2-for-5 against Hughes with a double and three RBI.
