Chicago White Sox ace Chris Sale will be hoping to stay undefeated on Saturday night when he takes on Matt Shoemaker and the Los Angeles Angels.

Lefty Chris Sale got his fifth win of the season last Sunday when he pitched a complete game against the San Diego Padres. He allowed just one earned run on two hits in that outing while walking no one and striking out 52. Sale has now racked up 52 strikeouts in 45.1 innings this season while walking just eight batters.

Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton has gone up against Sale 13 times in his career and is just 1-for-11 with a walk and four strikeouts. Albert Pujols has hit a home run off of the left-hander, but that is the only hit he has gotten off of him in nine at-bats.

Matt Shoemaker's last start was back on May 29 when he picked up his third win of the season by beating the Seattle Mariners on the road. He went 5.1 innings in that outing and allowed three runs on four hits while walking no one and striking out six. In 29 innings this season, Shoemaker has a 4.03 ERA and has struck out 28 batters.

Shoemaker will be going up against everyone in the White Sox lineup for the first time in his career on Saturday. So far this season, he has done well mixing up his pitches, throwing his 91 mph fastball less than 50 percent of the time.
