25-year-old Jose Quintana will be going for his third win of the season when the Chicago White Sox face Jeremy Guthrie and the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night.

Left-hander Jose Quintana won for the second time this season when he was able to defeat the Houston Astros on the road last Friday. He only made it through five innings in that start, but he held the Astros to just two runs on seven hits while striking out five and walking two. Through 54 innings of work, Quintana has 45 strikeouts and a respectable 3.67 ERA.

Billy Butler has struggled against Quintana in his career by getting just three hits in 18 at-bats with nine strikeouts. Salvador Perez has done quite a bit better with a .318 batting average against Quintana with three doubles, two home runs and six RBI in 22 at-bats.

Jeremy Guthrie was able to pitch eight innings against the Baltimore Orioles last week, but he ended up taking his third loss of the season after the Royals were defeated 4-0. He gave up the four runs in that game on eight hits while striking out two and walking one. Guthrie has a 4.76 ERA on the season and has struck out just 27 batters in 58.2 innings.

Alexei Ramirez only has seven hits in 40 at-bats against Guthrie, while Paul Konerko is 13-for-49 with three doubles and four home runs against him.
