Second-year starters Andre Rienzo and Yordano Ventura will face off on Tuesday night when the Chicago White Sox go up against the Kansas City Royals.

Andre Rienzo ended up with a no decision against the Oakland Athletics on the road last week in a game the White Six eventually won 4-2. He pitched 6.1 innings in that outing and gave up just two runs on two solo home runs while walking two and striking out four. He is striking out just 5.1 batters per nine innings this season, but he has given up just 24 hits in 30 innings of work.

First baseman Billy Butler has just one hit in five at-bats against Rienzo so far in his career, while Alex Gordon and Mike Moustakas are both 2-for-5 against the right-hander.

Yordano Ventura lost his second consecutive start last week against the Baltimore Orioles, but he only allowed two runs in 6.1 innings. He gave up seven hits in that game and struck out nine while walking just one. He has a 2-3 record on the year, but he also has an excellent ERA of 2.40 and has given up just 39 hits in 48.2 innings.

Adam Dunn and Marcus Semien are the only White Sox players who have hit home runs off of Ventura in their careers. Chicago players are a collective 4-for-15 against him.
