Jose Quintana will be hoping to bounce back from his worst start of the season when the Chicago White Sox face reigning Cy Young award winner Max Scherzer and the Detroit Tigers.

Jose Quintana picked up his first loss of the season on Saturday against the Texas Rangers when he was only able to put together five innings of work. He gave up five runs in that outing on nine hits while striking out only one hitter and walking two. His ERA is still at a respectable 3.75, but his 4.21 WHIP seems to indicate that he was a bit lucky in his earlier outings.

Rajai Davis has done quite well against Quintana in their matchups by getting seven hits, including two doubles, in 14 at-bats. Outfielder Austin Jackson has had a tougher time against the lefty, going 2-for13 with three strikeouts.

Max Scherzer was finally able to pick up his first win of the season last week against the Los Angeles Angels. He went seven innings in that game and gave up just one run on three hits while striking out nine. He was able to lower his season ERA to 2.33 and is currently striking out 11.3 batters per nine innings.

Scherzer seems to really like facing White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez, as he has given up just four hits against him in 42 at-bats.
