The Detroit Tigers will welcome the Chicago White Sox to Comerica Park on Monday night in an American League Central division showdown. The White Sox will send left hander John Danks to the mound to take on right hander Anibal Sanchez.

The White Sox are expecting and hoping Danks pitches in 2014 like he did between 2008 and 2010 instead of how he has performed since 2011. He was 40-31 during the former and just 15-30 in the latter, while also missing considerable time due to injury. Danks is 1-0 this season with a 3.32 ERA in 3 starts and in his career against the current roster of Tigers, he has had his share of struggles. As a team, they are hitting .303 (76-for-251) against him with 16 home runs and 38 RBIs.  Ian Kinsler has 4 home runs to lead the charge off him, while Austin Jackson, Torii Hunter and Victor Martinez each have 3.

For the Tigers, the 30-year-old Venezuelan pitcher has been consistent since joining the team in 2012. During his time with the team, he has gone just 27-27, but has an ERA less than 4.00 and even with a 2.57 ERA a year ago, was only able to register a 14-8 record. In his career against the current White Sox, Sanchez has had better success than his counterpart. They are hitting .280 (33-for-118) against him with only 1 home run.
