Monday night, the Chicago White Sox will send Chris Bassitt (0 -1, 5.29 ERA) to the mound to take on the Detroit Tigers and Kyle Lobstein (1 – 0, 3.58 ERA).  Bassitt makes his 4th start and 5th appearance as Lobstein makes his 5th start and 6th appearance.

Chris Bassitt had a short start his last time out and it led to his 3rd straight no-decision.  In 3.2 innings of work, Bassitt allowed 3 runs and 6 hits while walking 4 batters and striking out just 2.  Bassitt has been good and bad in his few appearances in the Majors.  But he looked pretty good down in the Minors with a 3 – 1 record and a 2.08 ERA in 8 starts and a relief appearance.

Bassitt faced the Tigers in his Major League debut and he took the loss after giving up 5 runs and 7 hits through 6.1 innings. 

Kyle Lobstein escaped with a no-decision in his last outing after allowing 4 runs and 6 hits (including a homer) in 5 innings of work.  He walked a batter and struck out 2.  It was the worst effort of the season for Lobstein, who has pitched well despite what his record looks like.  Down at Triple-A Toledo, Lobstein was 9 -11 with a 4.07 ERA in 25 starts and a relief appearance. 

Lobstein has never faced the White Sox before but if he can shake off his last bad start, he might have chance to find a win in this one.
