Wednesday night, the Chicago White Sox and Hector Noesi will square off against the Baltimore Orioles and Ubaldo Jimenez.  Noesi makes his 11th start and 17th appearance as Jimenez makes his 16th.

Hector Noesi didn’t factor into the decision his last time out and that held his record at 2 – 5 with an ERA of 5.34.  In that outing, Noesi gave up 4 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings of work as he walked 2 and struck out 4.  In 2013, Noesi only started 1 game and made 11 relief appearances for the Seattle Mariners. He compiled a record of 0 – 1 with an ERA of 6.59.

Last season, Noesi didn’t start against the Orioles but he has experience against the Baltimore lineup.  Noesi would be wise to pitch around Nelson Cruz.  Cruz is 2 for 5 with a homer and 4 RBIs against Noesi.

Ubaldo Jimenez failed to get the decision in his last start and that kept his record at 2 - 8 with a 4.63 ERA.  In that outing, Jimenez gave up a run on 6 hits in 5.2 innings.  He walked 6 while striking out only 3.  Jimenez hasn’t won a game in over a month and with the way that he is pitching, he might not win another game any time soon.  He has virtually no chance of matching his results from last season when he went 13 – 9 with a 3.30 ERA in 32 starts for the Cleveland Indians.   

In 2013, Jimenez was 1 – 0 with a 2.75 ERA in 3 starts against the White Sox.  Paul Konerko is only batting .250 against Jimenez but he has a homer and 6 RBIs.
