Jake Arrieta will attempt to win his fifth consecutive game for the Chicago Cubs on Sunday afternoon when he goes up against Jordan Zimmermann and the Washington Nationals.

Big right-hander Jake Arrieta picked up his fifth win of the year last Monday when he pitched 7.2 scoreless innings against the Boston Red Sox on the road. He gave up just one hit in that game and walked one while striking out 10. Arrieta has been one of the biggest surprises so far this season, going 5-1 through 11 starts with a 1.81 ERA.

Nationals infielder Danny Espinosa has three hits in his seven at-bats against Arrieta with a triple, a home run and four RBI. Shortstop Ian Desmond has just two hits in his 11 at-bats against the right-hander with a home run and two strikeouts.

In his last start, Jordan Zimmermann was able to pick up his sixth win of the year by beating the Colorado Rockies at home. He went six innings in that start and gave up just two runs on seven hits while striking out five and walking one. Zimmermann is now 6-4 on the year with a 2.95 ERA and he has only given up six home runs on 103.2 innings of work.

Nate Schierholtz should find himself in the Cubs' lineup on Sunday, as he is 5-for-13 against Zimmermann with three doubles, a home run and seven RBI.
