Big right-hander Jason Hammel will be getting the start for the Chicago Cubs on Saturday afternoon and will be facing Wily Peralta and the Milwaukee Brewers.

In his tenth start of the season on Sunday, Jason Hammel went 5.2 innings against the San Diego Padres and ended up taking his third loss. He allowed three earned runs on three hits in that outing while striking out five and walking two. Despite the off game, Hammel still has a solid 3.08 ERA and has only given up 43 hits in 64.1 innings this season.

Ryan Braun hasn't hit a home run off of Hammel yet, but he does have a .455 batting average against him in 11 at-bats with a double and an RBI. Lyle Overbay has just three hits against him in 22 career at-bats.

Wily Peralta got not help from his offense against the Miami Marlins last weekend and ended up taking his second straight loss. He pitched well, though, by only allowing one run in six innings of work while walking two and striking out five. Peralta is now 4-4 on the season with an excellent 2.12 ERA and has only walked 16 batters in 63.2 innings.

Starlin Castro is 9-for-19 against Peralta in his career with a double, two home runs and four RBI. First baseman Anthony Rizzo has a .375 batting average against him in 16 at-bats with a double and two home runs.
