Jeff Samardzija will be looking to continue his excellent start to the season when he and the Chicago Cubs go up against Kyle Lohse and the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday afternoon.

Jeff Samardzija has been pitching well all season, but it took until last Monday to finally pick up his first win of the year. He beat the San Francisco Giants in that game after giving up three earned runs on six hits while striking out 10 and walking none. The big right-hander's 1.68 ERA is one of the best in the league and he has only given up 59 hits in 75 innings of work.

All-Star Ryan Braun has done very well against Samardzija over the years, going 7-for-16 against him with a double, two home runs and five RBI. Jonathan Lucroy has just a .111 batting average against him in 18 at-bats with seven strikeouts.

Kyle Lohse pitched pretty well against the Baltimore Orioles last week, but he could only get a no decision out of the start. He went 6.2 innings in that game and gave up four earned runs on nine hits while walking none and striking out five. He has a 6-1 record on the season and has only walked 13 batters in 74 innings.

Brewers first baseman Anthony Rizzo doesn't have a home run against Lohse yet, but he is 9-for-19 against him with two doubles and two walks.
