On Friday night, Matt Garza (0-2) will be taking on one of his former teams when the Milwaukee Brewers face Carlos Villanueva (1-4) and the Chicago Cubs.

Matt Garza had his worst outing of the season last Friday when the Pittsburgh Pirates were able to get six runs (five earned) off of him in five innings of work. He struck out two Pirates, but he also gave up eight hits and walked three in the outing. Garza now has a 4.50 ERA in 26 innings pitched and his K/9 ratio is the lowest it's been since 2010.

Emilio Bonifacio has done pretty well against Garza in his career, notching four hits in 11 plate appearances against the right-hander. Ryan Sweeney is 3-for-8 against him with 2 RBI.

Carlos Villanueva picked up his league-leading fourth loss this past Sunday when the Cincinnati Reds were able to get five runs off of him. He went just 4.2 innings in that outing and was able to strike out seven Reds, but he also gave up nine hits and walked one. It's going to be tough for Villanueva to stay in the rotation if he doesn't greatly lower his 10.93 ERA pretty soon.

Mark Reynolds has five hits in 16 career at-bats against Villanueva, with two of those hits coming via the long ball. Aramis Ramirez has also done very well against the right-hander in his career, with three of his four hits being doubles.
