Chicago Cubs pitcher Jeff Samardzija will be looking to bounce back from his worst start of the year when he goes up against Jacob Turner and the Miami Marlins on Tuesday night.

Big right-hander Jeff Samardzija ended up losing his sixth game of the year last Thursday against the Pittsburgh Pirates on the road. He went six innings in that start and allowed four earned runs on nine hits while walking two and striking out seven. Samardzija, who has been the subject of many trade rumors recently, is 2-6 on the season, but he also has an excellent 2.77 ERA.

Casey McGehee has been able to hit a home run off of Samardzija, but he is just 2-for-11 against him overall with three strikeouts. First baseman Garrett Jones is 6-for-23 against him with two doubles, a triple and five strikeouts.

23-year-old starter Jacob Turner lost for the fourth time this season after only going four innings against the Texas Rangers last week. He gave up five runs on six hits in that outing while striking out four and walking one. Turner has had a bad season so far, going 2-4 through nine starts with a 6.38 ERA.

All of the Cubs will be facing Turner for the first time this Tuesday. Right-handed hitters have hit .339 against him so far, while left-handed hitters have a .316batting average against him.
