On Thursday, rookie Kyle Hendricks (2-1) will make his fourth Major League start when he and the Chicago Cubs take on Franklin Morales (5-6) and the Colorado Rockies.

Last Friday, Kyle Hendricks had a strong outing against the Los Angeles Dodgers on the road and came away with the win. He pitched seven innings in that start and allowed two runs (one earned) on four base hits while striking out three batters and walking one. Through four starts, he has a 2.05 ERA and he has only walked seven batters in 26.1 innings.

The Cubs will be getting their first chance to face Hendricks on Thursday night. So far this year, he has held right-handed batters to just a .217 batting average and a .598 OPS.

In his last start, Franklin Morales gave up three runs in six innings to the Detroit Tigers on the road and ended up suffering his sixth loss of the year. He allowed six hits in that start and walked four batters while striking out two. On the year, he now has a 5.14 ERA and he has given up 118 hits in 103.1 innings of work.

Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro has three hits in four plate appearances against Morales with two doubles, a triple and three RBI. Catcher Welington Castillo is hitless in two at-bats against him with two strikeouts in his career.
