Right-hander Jacob Turner (4-7) will make his first start as a member of the Chicago Cubs when they face Mat Latos (4-3) and the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday night.

Jacob Turner last made a start when he was a member of the Miami Marlins back on July 27. In that game, he gave up just one run in 5.2 innings to the Houston Astros and came away with his fourth win of the year. Overall this season, Turner has a 5.77 ERA and he has given up 109 hits in his 82.2 innings on the mound.

Reds All-Star Todd Frazier has three hits in five career at-bats versus Turner with a walk, a double and an RBI. Outfielder Skip Schumaker is 1-for-5 against him with a double and three walks.

Mat Latos picked up his third consecutive no decision last week against the Atlanta Braves despite giving up just one run in six innings of work that day. In that game, he allowed nine hits while striking out three batters and walking two. Latos currently has a 2.99 ERA on the season and he has only given up five home runs in 84.1 innings.

Cubs catcher Welington Castillo has three hits in five at-bats against Latos in his career with an RBI and a strikeout. First baseman Anthony Rizzo is just 2-for-15 against him with two walks and two strikeouts.
