On Tuesday afternoon, seven-game winner Travis Wood will start for the Chicago Cubs when they face Cincinnati Reds ace Johnny Cueto.

Last Wednesday, Travis Wood pitched just 3.2 innings against the Boston Red Sox, but he took the no decision rather than the loss. He gave up three earned runs in that outing and walked four batters while striking out three. On the season, Wood has a 7-6 record with a 4.62 Era and he has only given up nine home runs in 99.1 innings on the mound.

Reds third baseman Todd Frazier has six hits in his 17 at-bats versus Wood with two home runs and six RBI. Zack Cozart is just 2-for-19 against Woods with nine strikeouts in his career.

Right-hander Johnny Cueto pitched seven good innings against the San Diego Padres on the road last week, but he ended up taking the loss after getting no help from his offense. He gave up three runs on seven hits in that game and struck out eight batters while walking three. He is now 8-6 with an excellent 1.99 ERA and he has struck out 130 batters in 131.1 innings.

Shortstop Starlin Castro has faced Cueto more than any of the other Cubs, but he is just 7-for-30 against him with one RBI and four strikeouts. None of the current Cubs have been able to hit a home run off of him yet.
