Travis Wood will be looking to pick up his third win of the season when the Chicago Cubs go up against the Chicago White Sox, who will be sending John Danks to the mound.

Travis Wood had one of his better outings of the season so far last Friday when he and the Cubs were able to defeat the St. Louis Cardinals 6-5. Wood gave up just two earned runs in the game and struck out six while walking none. His ERA is a solid 3.35 now and his 8.8 K/9 is the highest strikeout rate of his career.

No one on the White Sox has hit a homer off of Wood, but Paul Konerko does have three hits and two RBI against him in six plate appearances. Adam Dunn is 0-for-3 against Wood with two strikeouts.

John Danks had a day to forget last Friday when he was beaten by the Cleveland Indians for his second loss of the season. He gave up a season-high eight runs on 10 hits while striking out three and walking three. His ERA rose over a run and a half to 5.00 in the loss.

Luis Valbuena seems to like facing Danks as he is 3-for-4 with an RBI and a walk against him in his career. Darwin Barney hasn't had that type of luck, going just 1-for-5 with a strikeout against the lefty.
