On Sunday afternoon, Jake Arrieta will try to improve to 6-1 for the Chicago Cubs when they play Josh Collmenter and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Right-hander Jake Arrieta had another good start for the Cubs when he faced the Atlanta Braves on July 11, but he had to settle for the no decision. He went 7.2 innings in that game and gave up three runs on four hits while striking out six batters and walking three. Arrieta is 5-1 through 13 starts and he has an excellent 1.95 ERA.

Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill has four hits in his 11 at-bats against Arrieta with a double and a home run. Outfielder Mark Trumbo is 1-for-4 against the right-hander with an RBI and two strikeouts.

In his last outing, Josh Collmenter had one of his best starts of the season versus the Miami Marlins, but all he came away with was a no decision. He pitched seven innings in that game and gave up one run on seven hits while striking out six hitters and walking just one. Collmenter is currently 7-5 on the season with a 3.80 ERA and he has only walked 2.4 batters per nine innings.

Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo is 2-for-7 against Collmenter in his career with a walk, two doubles and two RBI. Darwin Barney is hitless against him in five at-bats with one walk.
