Jon Lester, who is coming off of his best outing of the season, will be going for his fourth win when the Boston Red Sox go up against Martin Perez and the Texas Rangers on Saturday night.

Jon Lester went eight shutout innings against the Oakland Athletics a week ago to pick up his third win of the season. He gave up just one hit in that game and struck out a career-high 15 batters in the victory. His ERA is now a solid 2.59 and he has struck out 58 batters through 48.2 innings.

J.P. Arencibia has two home runs against Lester in his career, but he has also struck out 18 times in their 44 matchups. Third baseman Adrian Beltre has nine hits in 25 at-bats against the lefty with a double, a homer and four RBI.

23-year-old lefty Martin Perez picked up his fourth loss when he was beaten by the Colorado Rockies last Monday. He went five innings in that game and gave up five earned runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out five. He still has a respectable 3.59 ERA with two shutouts on the season and has given up just 41 hits through 47.2 innings.

Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia is just 1-for-6 against Perez with three strikeouts, while Mike Napoli is 3-for-3 against the left-hander with an RBI.
