John Lackey will be going for his fifth win of the season when he and the Boston Red Sox go up against the struggling Robbie Ross and the Texas Rangers on Sunday afternoon.

John Lackey took the no decision in his matchup against the Oakland Athletics last Sunday to end his three-game winning streak. He did pitch pretty well, though, by going six innings and giving up just two runs on five hits while striking out four and walking three. His ERA is still a pretty good 3.72 on the season and he his striking out 8.4 batters per nine innings.

Adrian Beltre has hit three home runs off of Lackey in his career, but he's hit just .219 overall against him in 64 at-bats. Shin-Soo Choo is the Ranger with the most success against Lackey by going 7-for-18 with a double and a triple.

Robbie Ross had his second straight bad outing last Tuesday against the Colorado Rockies when he gave up up six earned runs and a season-high 12 hits in 5.1 innings. He struck out just one in that outing and picked up his third loss of the season. Ross has given up 50 hits in 38 innings this season.

Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia has two hits in five at-bats against Ross, while DH David Ortiz is the only player on the team with an extra-base hit against him.
