Rubby De La Rosa (3-4) will be looking to end his two-game losing streak when he and the Boston Red Sox face Lance Lynn (11-8) and the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday night.

Last Tuesday against the Toronto Blue Jays, Rubby De La Rosa suffered his fourth loss of the year, but he didn't pitch too badly in that game. He allowed three runs on nine hits in that start while walking two batters and striking out one. Through nine starts, De La Rosa has a respectable 3.64 ERA and he has struck out 6.1 batters per nine innings.

Cardinals second baseman Mark Ellis is hitless against De La Rosa in three career plate appearances with one strikeout. None of the other Cards have faced the right-hander yet.

In his last start, Lance Lynn pitched six pretty good innings against the San Diego Padres on the road, but he ended up suffering his eighth loss of the year. He allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits in that start while walking three and striking out six. Lynn now has a 2.98 ERA after that win and he has struck out 123 batters in 133 innings of work.

The Red Sox will be going up against Lynn for the first time on Tuesday night. They can expect to see a lot of his 93-95 mph fastball, which is his highest-rated pitch.
