Right-handed veteran John Lackey will be pitching for the Boston Red Sox on Monday night when they face Felix Hernandez and the Seattle Mariners.

John Lackey had a fantastic performance against the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday, but all he came away with from that outing was a no decision. He pitched nine shutout innings in that game and gave up just three hits while striking out nine batters and walking just one. Lackey has had an impressive season this year, going 8-4 through 15 starts with a solid 2.96 ERA.

Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano hasn't been able to hit a home run off of Lackey yet, but he is 17-for-55 against him with eight doubles and six RBI. Endy Chavez is 8-for-13 against him with a double and an RBI.

Former Cy Young award winner Felix Hernandez picked up a no decision in his last start after going seven innings against the San Diego Padres. He allowed just one earned run in that outing on three hits while striking out 10 and walking no one. On the year, Hernandez is 8-2 for the Mariners with an excellent 2.22 ERA and he has 122 strikeouts and just 19 walks in 113.1 innings.

Mike Napoli has hit a home run off of Hernandez, but he is just 6-for-36 overall against him with 14 strikeouts. David Ortiz is 10-for-31 against him with a double, a home run and five RBI.
