On Thursday night, Clay Buchholz will be hoping to have a bounce-back game for the Boston Red Sox as they take on their divisional rivals the New York Yankees, who will have Michael Pineda on the mound.

Clay Buchholz may have ended up with the no-decision when he faced the Milwaukee Brewers in his first start of the season, but that start couldn't have gone much worse for the righty. He was lucky to get through 4.1 innings after he gave up 13 hits, including two home runs. He ended up throwing 72 pitches in the game and six earned runs were charged to him.

The only player who Buchholz will not be looking forward to facing in the Yankees' lineup is Brian Roberts, who has a .400/.500/.520 batting line against him in 30 plate appearances. Kelly Johnson hasn't had as much luck against the righty, getting just one hit and striking out five times in 10 at-bats.

Michael Pineda may have taken the loss in his first start of the season, but he actually pitched well in the game against the Toronto Blue Jays. He gave up just one run on five hits over six innings while striking out six hitters. He threw just 83 pitches in the game, but that was only because he hadn't pitched in the majors for over two years.

No one in the Red Sox lineup has faced Pineda more than three times.
