On Saturday night, Clay Buchholz (5-7) will attempt to win his first game in four starts when the Boston Red Sox go up against Garrett Richards (12-4) and the Los Angeles Angels.

Clay Buchholz had one of his worst starts of the year on Sunday when he was beaten by the New York Yankees at home. He pitched five innings in that game and allowed a season-high seven earned runs on eight hits while walking five and striking out five. He now has a very high 6.20 ERA on the year and he has given up 126 hits in 101.2 innings.

Angels second baseman Howie Kendrick is 7-for-21 against Buchholz in his career with two doubles, a home run and four RBI. Josh Hamilton is 2-for-18 against him with an RBI and five strikeouts.

Garrett Richards had yet another good start for the Angels on Monday when he defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers on the road. He pitched a shutout in that game and allowed just five hits while striking out nine batter and walking two. He has only given up 109 hits in 153.1 innings this season and he currently owns a 2.58 ERA.

Red Sox first baseman Mike Napoli has four hits in his five at-bats against Richards with a double, a home run and three RBI. All-Star Yoenis Cespedes is 5-for-16 against him with three doubles, a triple and three RBI.
