Second-year starter Allen Webster (1-1) will make his third start of the year for the Boston Red Sox when they face Jered Weaver (12-6) and the Los Angeles Angels on Friday.

Allen Webster could only make it through 2.2 innings against the New York Yankees on Saturday and ended up losing for the first time this season. He allowed four runs on two hits in that game while walking six batters and striking out just one. Through two starts, he now has a 6.75 ERA and he has walked 11 batters in eight innings on the mound.

The Angels will all be facing Webster for the first time on Friday night. He has walked a bunch of hitters this year, but he has also held left-handed batters to just a .176 batting average in 17 at-bats.

On Sunday against the Tampa Bay Rays, Jered Weaver pitched six good innings and came away with his 12th win of the season. He allowed just two runs on six base hits in that start and walked four batters while striking out three. He now has a 3.59 ERA for the Angels this season and he has struck out seven batters per nine innings.

Red Sox veteran Mike Napoli has nine hits in 27 at-bats against Weaver in his career with two doubles, two solo home runs. Dustin Pedroia is just 5-for-28 against the right-hander with two walks and seven strikeouts.
