Veteran right-hander John Lackey will be going for his 10th win of the year when he and the Boston Red Sox face Scott Feldman and the Houston Astros on Friday night.

Last Saturday, John Lackey lost for the sixth time this season when he was beaten by the Baltimore Orioles at home. In 5.1 innings of work, he gave up five runs on 10 hits while walking one and striking out 11. Lackey now has a 9-6 record on the season and his 8.1 strikeouts per nine innings in his highest strikeout rate since 2005.

Astros first baseman Jesus Guzman has two hits in his five at-bats against Lackey with a double and a solo home run. All-Star second baseman Jose Altuve is just 1-for-6 against Lackey with one strikeout.

Scott Feldman pitched six pretty good innings against the Los Angeles Angels on the road last Saturday, but he had to settle for the no decision in a game the Angels ended up winning 11-5. He gave up just two runs in that start and struck out five hitters while walking no one. Through 15 starts, Feldman has a 4-5 record with a 3.86 ERA and he has only walked 21 batters in 84 innings of work.

One player on the Red Sox who Feldman is not a fan of facing is veteran Mike Napoli, who has 12 hits in 29 at-bats against him with a double, two home runs and seven RBI.
