Tuesday night, Jake Peavy gets the call for the Boston Red Sox as they take on T.J. House and the Cleveland Indians. Peavy will be making his 12th start as House makes his 3rd start and 4th appearance.

Jake Peavy pitched to his second straight no-decision in his last outing and that left his record at 1 – 2 with an ERA of 4.50. Peavy had a decent start his last time out after giving up 3 runs on 8 hits (including a homer) in 8 innings of work.  Peavy walked 1 while striking out 4.  Last season, Peavy had a much better season as he went 12 – 5 with an ERA of 4.17 in 23 starts for the White Sox and Red Sox.

In 2013, Peavy won his only start against the Indians after allowing just a run (on a solo homer) on 5 hits in 7 innings.  In his career, Peavey has held the Indians to a .228 batting average with 26 hits, 6 homers and 19 RBIs in 114 at-bats.

T.J. House pitched to a no-decision in his last outing despite a quality start. His record held at 0 – 1 with a 4.05 ERA after he allowed a run on 5 hits in 6.1 innings.  House walked a batter while striking out 8.  House started the season at AAA-Columbus where he was 1- 2 with a 2.40 ERA in 7 starts.

House comes into this one without any experience against the Boston Red Sox.  But with some advice from the rest of the pitching staff as well as a good scouting report, he should get an idea of what he will be seeing from the Red Sox.
