Jake Peavy (0-0) returns to the place he spent 5 seasons before changing Sox as Boston visits Chicago and Erik Johnson (0-1). Peavy is yet to get in the win column despite pitching well, posting an ERA of just 2.13 so far in 2014. His first start was a 6 inning performance in which he gave up just 2 runs but the Red Sox eventually dropped a 2-6 game to Milwaukee. The last time out he gave up 1 run on 3 hits through 6.2 but again failed to get the win after leaving a 1-1 game.

Peavy went from Chicago to Boston on July 31st and made a start against his old team a month later, going 7 innings and allowing just 2 runs in a 7-2 Red Sox win. Peavy has faced some of his old teammates before, mainly Adam Dunn, who has just 5 hits in 31 AB with 11 K's. Only Jeff Keppinger has seen him more than 3 times though, going 2 for 10 as a member of the Rays.

Erik Johnson is still looking for his first win as a full-time starter after allowing 11 runs in 10.1 innings this year. Johnson couldn't get out of the 5th after giving up 7 ER to the Royals in his season debut but fared a little better while allowing 4 runs to the Rockies April 9th. He aims to lower the season 9.58 ERA if the White Sox have any chance Tuesday.

As a September callup a year ago Johnson did not face the Red Sox. He did go 3-2 with a 3.25 ERA which had given White Sox management some optimism for this year, which so far hasn't panned out.
