Veteran Bud Norris will go up against Nick Martinez on Wednesday in the second game of a three-game series between the Baltimore Orioles and the Texas Rangers.

Last Wednesday, Bud Norris lost for the fifth time this season when he was defeated by the Milwaukee Brewers on the road. He allowed four runs on five hits in that outing and walked three hitters while striking out just one. Norris has a 4.04 ERA this season and has only given up 54 hits in 62.1 innings of work. His 1.187 WHIP is the best that it has ever been in his career.

Outfielder Alex Rios has two hits in his three at-bats against Norris, including one double. The rest of his teammates have struggled against him, though, going a combined 1-for-17 with six strikeouts.

Rookie Nick Martinez allowed four runs in 5.2 innings against the Minnesota Twins last week and ended up with a no decision. He allowed nine hits in that start and struck out two while walking two. In 39.1 innings this season, Martinez has only struck out 20 batters and he's walked 17.

Martinez will be going up against all of the Orioles' hitters for the first time on Wednesday night. So far this season, he has thrown his 91 mph fastball about 66 percent of the time and his 84 mph slider about 15 percent of the time.
