Wednesday night, Bud Norris gets the call for the Baltimore Orioles as they take on Yovani Gallardo and the Milwaukee Brewers. Norris makes his 10th start as Gallardo makes his 11th. 

Bud Norris improved his record to 3 - 4 with a 3.83 ERA after getting the win in his last start. In that outing, Norris gave up 4 runs on 6 hits (including a home run) in 6 innings of work.  He issued 3 walks while striking out 6.  Norris has been up and down this season and it will be tough to post better numbers than last year when he went 10  -12 with an ERA of 4.18 in 30 starts and 2 relief appearances with the Houston Astros and the Orioles. 

In 2013, Norris didn’t face the Brewers but he has some experience against Milwaukee.  Norris will have to watch out for Ryan Braun because Braun is batting .321 with 2 home runs and 4 RBIs.

Yovani Gallardo lost his last start and that dropped his record to 2 - 3 with an ERA of 3.51.  Gallardo was lit up for 4 runs and 4 hits (including a home run) in just 3.1 innings of work.  It’s possible that foot and ankle problems could have caused the rough outing and that will be something to watch in this start.  Last season, Gallardo was 12 – 10 with a 4.18 ERA in 31 starts.

In 2013, Gallardo didn’t face the Orioles and he has only opposed 5 Baltimore hitters in the past.  Those hitters are only batting .154 against Gallardo but Nick Hundley is batting .429 with 2 doubles against the right-hander.
