Monday afternoon, Chris Tillman will take the hill for the Baltimore Orioles as they face Kyle Lohse and the Milwaukee Brewers. Both pitchers will be making their 11th starts of the season.

Chris Tillman was lit up in his last start but he was fortunate to get a no decision that left his record at 4 – 2 with a 4.21 ERA.  In that outing Tillman surrendered 8 runs on 6 hits in just an inning of work.   It was easily his worst start of the season.  In 2013, Tillman was a solid 16 – 7 with an ERA of 3.71 in 33 starts. 

Last season, Tillman didn’t face the Brewers and he has only seen 3 of their current hitters in his career.  Lyle Overbay is the only one with any success against Tillman as Overbay is 7 of 17 with 3 home runs and 3 RBIs. 

Kyle Lohse took his record to 6 – 1 and lowered his ERA slightly to 2.67 after getting the win his last time out.  In that start, Lohse was spectacular and only surrendered a run on 4 hits through 8 innings of work.  He had 8 strikeouts and didn’t issue any walks.  At this rate, Lohse will easily surpass last year’s numbers when he posted a record of 11 – 10 with a 3.35 ERA in 32 starts.

In 2013, Lohse didn’t pitch against the Orioles but he has seen many of their hitters.  Baltimore is 8 of 31 against the right-hander with 4 doubles and just 1 RBI.
