Baltimore Orioles right-hander Bud Norris will attempt to make it five wins in six starts when he faces Matt Shoemaker and the Los Angeles Angels on Monday night.

Bud Norris made his last start against the Washington Nationals and ended up taking the loss after giving up five earned runs in four innings of work. He allowed six hits in that game and walked one while striking out just two batters. In 15 starts, Norris is 7-6 for the Orioles and has only given up 79 hits in his 91 innings in the mound.

Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton has four hits in his 12 plate appearances against Norris with a double and a solo home run. First baseman Albert Pujols is just 7-for-36 against him with five walks and four strikeouts.

Second-year starter Matt Shoemaker won his second game in a row and his seventh overall when he came in as a reliever against the Toronto Blue Jays on July 7. He pitched 3.2 innings in that game and gave up two runs on five hits while walking no one and striking out two. In 15 appearances both as a starter and as a reliever, Shoemaker is 7-2 with a 4.38 ERA and he has struck out 62 hitters in 63.2 innings.

Shoemaker will be going up against the Orioles for the first time in his career on Monday night.
