The Baltimore Orioles will be sending Bud Norris to the mound on Saturday night when they go up against Danny Duffy and the Kansas City Royals.

Bud Norris stayed on the mound longer than he has all season last Monday against the Detroit Tigers, but he still ended up picking up his third loss of the season. He went 7.2 innings in that game and gave up four earned runs on five hits while striking out seven and walking two. He has a 3.98 ERA through 43 innings this season and is giving up less hits per nine innings than he ever has in his career.

None of the current Royals have hit a home run off of Norris yet, but left fielder Alex Gordon is perfect against him through three at-bats. Billy Butler has one hit against him in three at-bats.

Lefty Danny Duffy lost his second straight game last Thursday when he was beaten by the Seattle Mariners on the road despite giving up just one earned run. He pitched six strong innings in that outing and gave up just two hits while striking out four and walking three. Through 18.1 innings this season, Duffy has a 1.96 ERA and has struck out 17 batters.

Designated hitter Delmon Young is 2-for-8 against Duffy with a double and three strikeouts, while All-Star outfielder Adam Jones is 0-for-3 with two strikeouts against him.
