Left-hander Wei-Yin Chen will be on the mound for the Baltimore Orioles when they take on Jeremy Guthrie and the Kansas City Royals In Game 3 of the ALCS on Monday night.

Wei-Yin Chen struggled in his start in Game 2 of the ALDS against the Tigers. He gave up up five runs on seven base hits in 3.2 innings that day while walking zero and striking out three. Despite pitching poorly in that game, Chen finished with just a no decision rather than a loss.

In two starts against the Royals this season, Chen was 1-0 with a 2.19 ERA and he struck out seven batters in 12.1 innings while only walking three. Royals designated hitter Billy Butler is 8-for-18 against Chen in his career with two doubles, a triple and two home runs.

Veteran Jeremy Guthrie will be making his first postseason start on Monday. During the regular season, the right-hander went 13-11 for the Royals with a 4.13 ERA. In 202.2 innings of work, he gave up 215 hits, walked 49 batters and struck out 124.

Guthrie made two starts against the Orioles this year and went 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA. Alejandro De Aza has more at-bats against Guthrie than any of the other Orioles and is 8-for-32 against him with two doubles and four strikeouts. Nelson Cruz is 6-for-24 against the right-hander in his career with a double and a home run.
