Baltimore Orioles starter Miguel Gonzalez (6-6) will attempt to go over .500 for the first time this season on Sunday afternoon when he goes up against rookie Tsuyoshi Wada (3-1) and the Chicago Cubs.

Miguel Gonzalez was able to pick up his sixth win of the season back on August 7 when he beat the Toronto Blue Jays on the road. He allowed one run in six innings of work that day while walking two batters and striking out four. Gonzalez currently has a 3.80 ERA on the year, but he has given up 9.4 hits per nine innings, which is the worst rate of his career.

Gonzalez will be getting his first chance to face the Cubs on Sunday afternoon. Left-handed batters are hitting .271 against him this season, while right-handed batters have a .268 batting average against him.

Tsuyoshi Wada was able to pick up his second win in a row last week when he defeated the San Francisco Giants at home. He pitched five shutout innings in that outing and gave up just six hits while walking no one and striking out three. Through seven starts, Wada has a 2.75 ERA and he has struck out 33 batters in 39.1 innings.

The Cubs will be getting their first chance to face Wada on Tuesday. So far this year, Wada has held left-handed batters to just a .174 batting average and a .381 OPS.
