Young right-hander Julio Teheran will be on the mound for the Atlanta Braves on Saturday night when they face Doug Fister and the Washington Nationals.

Julio Teheran had a very good start against the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday, but he took the no decision instead of the win in a game the Phillies ended up winning 6-1. He went eight innings in that start and allowed just one run on four hits while walking no one and striking out six. On the season, he is 6-4 with a very solid 2.31 ERA and he has given up just 77 hits in 105 innings pitched.

Nationals outfielder Denard Span is 7-for-22 against Teheran in his career with two doubles, one RBI and just one strikeout. First baseman Adam LaRoche is 5-for-14 against him with seven walks, a home run and two RBI.

Doug Fister's five-game winning streak ended on Sunday when he was beaten by the St. Louis Cardinals on the road. He went six innings in that start and allowed four earned runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out two. Fister in now 5-2 through eight starts this season with a 3.08 ERA.

Ryan Doumit has four hits in 14 at-bats against Fister and is the only player on the Braves who has been able to hit a home run off of him. B.J. Upton is hitless against the right-hander in five at-bats.
