On Sunday afternoon, Atlanta Braves right-hander Ervin Santana will try to end his two-game losing streak when he goes up against Tanner Roark and the Washington Nationals.

On Tuesday, Ervin Santana lost his fourth game of the season when he was beaten by the Philadelphia Phillies in Atlanta. He went six innings in that start and allowed three earned runs on eight hits while walking three and striking out five. Santana is now 5-4 on the year and he has struck out 72 batters in 83 innings pitched.

Nats outfielder Denard Span is 8-for-24 against Santana with a double, a home run and five RBI in his career. Jayson Werth is just 2-for-10 against him, but he has hit a home run off of him.

Tanner Roark won his third consecutive start on Tuesday when he was able to beat the Houston Astros at home. Roark could only make it through five innings in that outing, but he allowed just one run on seven hits while striking out four and walking two. On the year, Roark has been impressive and has a solid 2.85 ERA to show for it.

Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman has just one hit in six at-bats against Roark in his career with two strikeouts. Ramiro Pena is the only player on the Braves who has been able to hit a home run off of Roark.
