Ervin Santana has been a great pickup for the Atlanta Braves this season and will be looking to keep his perfect record intact when he faces Shelby Miller and the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday.

Ervin Santana pitched seven shutout innings against the Chicago Cubs last weekend and was able to pick up his fourth win of the season. He allowed just five hits in that game and struck out seven batters while walking one. His ERA dipped down to 1.99 and he has given up just 32 hits through 40.2 innings while striking out 43.

Mark Ellis has a lot more experience facing Santana than his Cardinal teammates, but he has not done too well against the right-hander by going just 11-for-51 with four strikeouts. Matt Holliday has four hits in nine at-bats against Santana with a double and two home runs.

Shelby Miller got his fourth straight win and his fifth win overall last Sunday when he was able to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates on the road. He went 5.1 innings in the game and gave up two runs on four hits while walking four and striking out two. Miller has walked 27 batters through 44.2 innings this year, but he has found a way to get out of trouble and has kept his ERA down at 3.22.

Freddie Freeman has liked facing Miller these last couple of years by going 4-for-9 against him with a double and a home run.
