Gavin Floyd will take the mound for the second time this season for the Atlanta Braves and will face Tim Lincecum and the San Francisco Giants.

Gavin Floyd made his first start of the season last Tuesday against the St. Louis Cardinals and pitched very well despite no picking up the victory. He pitched seven strong innings in that game and gave up just one run on six hits while striking out five and walking two. He only got one run of support before exiting, but the Braves did end up winning the game.

None of the current Giants have faced Floyd more than three times in their careers, and he has yet to give up a hit to any of the batters that he has faced.

Tim Lincecum matched his shortest outing of the season last week against the Pittsburgh Pirates and ended up picking up his second loss. He went just four innings in the game and gave up four runs on eight hits while striking out four and walking two. He now has a 5.55 ERA and has given up a career-high 12.6 hits per nine innings.

Justin Upton has not done too well in his 51 at-bats against Lincecum, getting just 11 hits and striking out 18 times. Jason Heyward has done quite a bit better against the veteran right-hander, going 6-for-17 with a double.
