Sunday afternoon, Aaron Harang gets the call for the Atlanta Braves as they face David Buchanan and the Philadelphia Phillies.  Harang makes his 17th start as Buchanan makes his 8th.

Aaron Harang got the win his last time out and that evened his record at 6 – 6 with an ERA of 3.78.  In the win, Harang gave up 2 runs on 6 hits (including a homer) while walking 2 and striking out 5.  Harang has been up and down this season but he has already won more games than he did in 2013 when he posted a record of 5 – 12 with a 5.40 ERA in 26 starts for the Seattle Mariners and the New York Mets.

Last season, Harang didn’t face the Phillies but he has a start against them this season.  Less than 2 weeks ago, Harang took the loss against Philadelphia after getting torched for 9 runs and 13 hits in just 5 innings.

David Buchanan picked up his 3rd straight win in his last outing and that boosted his record to 4 – 3 with a 4.79 ERA.  In the win, Buchanan gave up 2 runs on 6 hits in 5 innings with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts.  Buchanan seems to have shaken off his 3 game losing streak and might be settling into a groove.       

Still in just his rookie campaign, Buchanan hasn’t faced the Braves yet.  He could extend his winning streak if he pitches well and takes into the account the information in the scouting report.
