Atlanta Braves right-hander Ervin Santana will attempt to win his eighth game of the year on Wednesday night when he faces Dillon Gee and the New York Mets.

Ervin Santana won his second game in a row last Friday by defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks at home. He pitched 7.1 innings in that outing and gave up two runs on six hits while walking one batters and striking out six. Santana now has a 7-5 record on the year and he has struck out 92 batters in 103 innings of work.

Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson has gone up against Santana more than any of his teammates and is 11-for-46 against him with two doubles, five home runs and nine RBI. Eric Young is 3-for-9 against the right-hander with two walks and an RBI.

Dillon Gee last pitched for the Mets back on May 10 against the Philadelphia Phillies and ended up with a no decision in that game. Gee was pitching very well for New York before going on the disabled list with a lat injury. He is currently 3-1 on the year through eight starts and he has only given up 41 hits in 52.2 innings.

Braves outfielder has eight hits in his 21 at-bats versus Gee with six walks, a home run and two RBI. Veteran second baseman Dan Uggla is just 5-for-29 against him with two RBI and five strikeouts.
