Atlanta opens yet another season after a disappointing playoff run while aiming for their third straight postseason appearance. After winning the NL East by 10 games the Braves were bounced in the NLDS by the Dodgers after winning only 1 game. Catcher Brian McCann is off to chase rings with the Yankees but the Braves have locked up a young group of core players for the next half decade. The Brewers on the other hand welcome back their troubled slugger Ryan Braun who served a 100 game PED suspension in 2013.

Getting the nod for Atlanta is lefthander Alex Wood, who enters his first season as a full-time starter. The 23-year-old ended up starting 11 games a year ago and posted a 3-3 record while doing so. Spring Training left Braves management very optimistic for Wood's future as he posted a 2-0 record with an ERA of just 0.45, allowing a lone run in 20 innings. Only 5 Brewers have ever faced Wood with a combined 2 hits in 6 AB.

Kyle Lohse begins his second season with the Brewers and his 13th overall when he takes the mound Tuesday against the Braves. The 35-year-old proved he has something left in the tank after posting an 11-10 record last season. Lohse's ERA was just 3.35 but his 26 HR allowed were the most since 2004. The last start of the 2013 year for Lohse came in his only matchup against Atlanta, a complete game shutout that led the Brewers to a 4-0 win.
