All eyes will be on Jose Fernandez (3-1) Tuesday as the second year pitcher has become the golden boy of the majors. The Braves look to steal the spotlight as they send their own bright youngster to the mound in Alex Wood (2-3). Wood has allowed more than one run in one game this season, lowering his ERA to 1.54. Wood has pitched 8 innings in each of his last two starts and struck out 11 in his last outing which coincidentally was against the Marlins.

The loss to Miami on April 22nd pushed Wood's career mark to 0-2 against the fish. The left-hander started two games against the Marlins in 2013, giving up 7 runs in 11.1 total innings. Fernandez is making a run for the NL Cy Young Award in his second year in the big leagues. The 21-year-old has struck out 24 batters in his last 15 innings including 14 Braves in Miami's 1-0 win on April 22nd. Fernandez allowed only 3 hits over 8 innings while lowering his season ERA to 1.99. Fernandez hasn't allowed an earn run in 3 of the 5 starts in 2014 and looks to improve on that against a team hitting just .158 lifetime versus the pitcher.
