26-year-old Christian Bergman will be making his Major League debut for the Colorado Rockies on Monday night and he will be facing Gavin Floyd and Atlanta Braves.

Christian Bergman is getting the start due to Rockies starter Jordan Lyles going on the disabled list with a broken hand. In 12 start at Triple-A for the Rockies, Bergman was 4-4 with a 3.84 ERA and a 1.160 WHIP. He struck out 48 batters in 75 innings while walking just 14 batters and he gave up nine home runs. He is known for being a fly ball pitcher, but he has been able to get more grounders than he did in the past.

Gavin Floyd is coming off of a no decision against the Seattle Mariners last week, which he was lucky to get considering he allowed five runs (three earned) in that outing. He went five innings in the game and gave up 10 hits while walking one and he struck out four batters. Floyd hasn't been able to pick up a win yet this year, but he does have a solid 2.80 ERA and has struck out 31 batters in 35.1 innings of work.

Veteran outfielder Michael Cuddyer has 14 hits in 39 at-bats against Floyd in his career with two doubles, two home runs and seven RBI. Justin Morneau has three home runs and 10 RBI against the right-hander, but he is batting just .194 against him in 36 career at-bats.
