On Thursday night, Julio Teheran (11-9) will attempt to win just his second game in his last five starts when he and the Atlanta Braves go up against 23-year-old David Holmberg (0-0) and the Cincinnati Reds.

Last weekend, Julio Teheran pitched six solid innings against the Oakland Athletics and was able to pick up his 11th win of the year. He allowed two runs on four base hits in that outing while walking three batters and striking out one. Teheran has only given up 7.7 hits per nine innings this season and currently has a 3.06 ERA.

Reds outfielder Jay Bruce has two hits in six plate appearances against Teheran with a home run and two RBI. All-Star third baseman Todd Frazier is hitless against the right-hander in five at-bats with no walks and one strikeout.

Left-handed starter David Holmberg made his only start for the Reds this year back on July 8 when he was beaten by the Chicago Cubs at home. He pitched just 2.2 innings in that game and allowed five runs on seven hits, including three home runs. In 17 starts in the minors this season, Holmberg is 1-6 with a 4.64 ERA and he has given up 113 hits in 87.1 innings of work.

All of the Braves hitters will be getting their first chance to face Holmberg on Thursday night.
