On Sunday afternoon, Julio Teheran will attempt to put his worst start of the year behind him when he and the Atlanta Braves take on Travis Wood and the Chicago Cubs.

On Tuesday, Julio Teheran pitched just 3.1 innings against the New York Mets and ended up suffering his sixth loss of the season. He allowed five earned runs on 11 hits in that game and walked two hitters while striking out two. Despite that blip, Teheran has been great for the Braves this season, going 8-6 with a 2.57 ERA.

Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo has just two hits in nine at-bats against Teheran, but one of those hits was a home run. Shortstop Starlin Castro is 1-for-9 against the right-hander with two strikeouts.

Left-hander Travis Wood lost for the seventh time this season when he was beaten by the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday on the road. He pitched 5.1 innings in that start and gave up four runs on eight hits while walking two batters and striking out five. Wood currently has a 4.64 ERA and he has 85 strikeouts in 104.2 innings of work.

Braves outfielder Justin Upton has four hits in his 14 at-bats versus Wood in his career with a double, a home run and four RBI. Catcher Gerald Laird is hitless against Wood in five at-bats with a walk and a strikeout.
