On Friday night, Julio Teheran will be going for his fourth consecutive win when he and the Atlanta Braves play Brandon McCarthy and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Last week, Julio Teheran won for the fifth time on the season when he beat the Miami Marlins on the road. He pitched 7.1 innings in that outing and allowed just two runs on five hits in that game while striking out five and walking one. Teheran's 1.83 ERA is one of the best in the majors this season and he has only given up 58 hits in 83.2 innings of work.

Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero has gone up against Teheran eight times and has no hits with three strikeouts. None of the current Diamondbacks have been able to hit a home run off of the young right-hander yet.

Brandon McCarthy gave up five runs in 4.1 innings against the Cincinnati Reds last week and is now tied for the league lead with seven losses. He gave up nine hits in that outing and walked one while striking out four. McCarthy hasn't pitched well at all this season, but he has also only gotten 2.68 runs of run support from his offense.

Outfielder B.J. Upton has faced McCarthy more than the rest of the Braves because of his time spent in the American League. He won't be able to share much with his teammates, though, because he is just 3-for-15 against him with six strikeouts.
