On Tuesday, Wade Miley (7-10) will try to win his first game since the end of July when he and the Arizona Diamondbacks face Yusmeiro Petit (4-3) and the San Francisco Giants.

Last Tuesday, Wade Miley gave up just one run in seven innings of work against the San Diego Padres, but he had to settle for a no decision. He allowed seven base hits in that outing while walking two hitters and striking out five. Miley now has a 4.18 ERA on the year and he has struck out 168 batters in 183 innings on the mound.

Giants catcher Buster Posey has nine hits in his 20 at-bats against Miley with three doubles, a home run and five RBI. Outfielder Hunter Pence is just 2-for-18 against the lefty with a walk and eight strikeouts.

Last Tuesday, Yusmeiro Petit gave up six earned runs in four innings against the Colorado Rockies and ended up with a no decision. He allowed seven hits in that start and walked one batter while striking out five. Petit has struck out 101 batters in 90.1 innings of work this season and he now has a 3.89 ERA.

Diamondbacks outfielder Mark Trumbo has two hits in his three at-bats versus Petit with two RBI and no strikeouts. Second baseman Aaron Hill is just 1-for-9 against him in his career with no walks and four strikeouts.
