On Wednesday, Josh Collmenter (10-7) will try to pick up his third win in four starts when he and the Arizona Diamondbacks go up against Ryan Vogelsong (8-10) and the San Francisco Giants.

Last Wednesday, Josh Collmenter pitched seven strong innings against the San Diego Padres and picked up the win. He gave up just one earned run on five hits in that start while walking two batters and striking out three. Collmenter lowered in ERA to 3.81 with that win and he has only walked 2.1 batters per nine innings this season.

One player on the Giants who Collmenter does not like facing is catcher Buster Posey, who is 8-for-11 against him with a double, two home runs and seven RBI.

Ryan Vogelsong had one of his worst starts of the season last Wednesday when he was defeated by the Colorado Rockies on the road. He went five innings in that game and gave up a season-high eight earned runs on 10 hits while striking out five and walking two. Vogelsong has struck out 133 batters in 162 innings this year and he now has a 4.06 ERA.

Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill has 13 hits in 25 at-bats against Vogelsong in his career with three doubles, two home runs and six RBI. Cliff Pennington is just 1-for-10 against him with no walks and four strikeouts.
