On Sunday, right-hander Chase Anderson will be on the mound for the Arizona Diamondbacks and will be going up against nine-game winner Madison Bumgarner and the San Francisco Giants.

Rookie Chase Anderson had one of his best starts of the year last Monday when he beat the Miami Marlins at home. He pitched six innings in that game and gave up just one earned run on seven hits while walking two and matching his season-high in strikeouts with eight. Anderson is now 6-4 on the year with a 3.64 ERA and he has struck out 7.8 batters per nine innings.

Anderson will be going up against the Giants for the first time on Sunday. So far, he has held left-handed batters to just a .213 batting average, while right-handed hitters have a .926 OPS against him.

Big left-hander Madison Bumgarner had a rough game against the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday and ended up losing his seventh game of the year. He did make it through seven innings in that outing, but he gave up six earned runs on 10 hits while striking out three batters and walking three. Bumgarner has a 3.36 ERA and he has been able to strike out 123 batter sin 120.2 innings.

Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill is just 5-for-20 versus Bumgarner in his career, but he does have two home runs with six RBI against him.
